PFLUGERVILLE, TX

What usually goes wrong with a Pflugerville pool

Most people find this page because something has gone wrong and they want to know who can look at it. Pflugerville has two conditions that show up in the equipment more than people expect, and a lot of our calls here trace back to one of them.

Here's what we get out to most often around here.

  • Something is weeping at the equipment pad and nobody can find it.
  • Chlorine never holds through the summer, no matter how much goes in.
  • The water dropped several inches in a week and you're wondering about a leak.
  • Green water a few days after a storm week, with grass and dust blown in off open ground.

Text us a photo of what you're seeing. If it's something simple, we'll tell you straight away. If it needs a proper look, we'll tell you that too, and what it'll cost.

AROUND LAKE PFLUGERVILLE

Why Pflugerville pool owners near Lake Pflugerville call us

Lake Pflugerville is 180 acres on the east side with a three-mile crushed granite loop around it, and unlike almost every other body of water we work near, the city built it. It was finished in 2006 and it's filled by pumping water sixteen miles from the Colorado River.

It sits in the middle of our Pflugerville route. From the lake we're minutes from Falcon Pointe and Cantarra, a short run down Pflugerville Parkway to Stone Hill Town Center and Typhoon Texas, and across to Pfluger Park and Gilleland Creek Park in the middle of town where Deutschen Pfest runs every spring.

We keep coming back to that lake because it's also the answer to why your water behaves the way it does. Your pool is filled from a reservoir the city made on purpose, and no other town we serve can say that.

We're based at Red Bud Lane and Forest Creek in Round Rock, and Pflugerville is about six miles south. Twelve minutes on a normal day, which makes it one of the two closest cities we serve.

We come down Red Bud Lane to Pecan Street, or take SH-130 when we're heading for the east side. From there, Pflugerville Parkway runs across the middle of the city and is how we reach most of it. Kelly Lane and Weiss Lane cover the Falcon Pointe and Cantarra side, Heatherwilde Boulevard and Grand Avenue Parkway handle the west, and FM 685 runs north to south through the older part of town.

Traffic is mostly I-35 and mostly avoidable. The stretch near Stone Hill Town Center backs up on weekends, and Pecan Street slows around the school run. SH-130 is empty almost always, which is why we use it even though it's tolled.

What we do

Swimming Pool Repair in Falcon Pointe, Blackhawk and across Pflugerville

The first is the ground. Pflugerville sits on Austin silty clay and Houston Black, both shrink-swell soils that expand when wet and contract when dry, every year. Over time that settles an equipment pad out of level and stresses rigid plumbing where it's glued, which is why so many calls here start as a slow leak nobody can locate. The second is sun.

The city is flat and open with very little mature tree cover, so equipment sits exposed and plastics, seals and control panels age faster than they would on a shaded pad. Most jobs start with a $149 Repair Diagnostic. You pay $74.50 when you book to cover that visit. If you approve the repair, that $74.50 comes right off your bill, so the diagnostic costs you nothing.

Falcon Pointe, Blackhawk or one of the older Heatherwilde streets, we'll find what's actually wrong and walk you through the options before any work starts.

LOCAL CONDITIONS

What Pflugerville water and ground do to your pool

Pflugerville's water is genuinely its own. The city built Lake Pflugerville, a 180-acre reservoir finished in 2006, and fills it by pumping water sixteen miles from the Colorado River, then blends that with groundwater from the Edwards Aquifer.

The city doesn't publish a total hardness figure, so we test yours instead. What its report does show is a different mineral profile from the Lake Travis cities: calcium at 40.3 parts per million, magnesium at 16.4, and total dissolved solids at 432 against Cedar Park's 286. In practice that means a dosing routine built on a regional average is describing a town that isn't this one, so we test your water rather than assume it.

The ground is the other half. Austin silty clay and Houston Black hold water, swell, and shrink, and over years they move whatever is sitting on them. That's why we look at the equipment pad on a Pflugerville visit even when you called about something else.

THROUGH THE YEAR

A pool year around Lake Pflugerville, season by season

Flat, open and unshaded, so the calendar here's about sun and evaporation rather than leaves.

Spring. Wind off Lake Pflugerville carries dust and grass across a lot of these yards, and the newer subdivisions have young trees that shade almost nothing. Water warms early, and a pool that sat through winter turns fast once it does.

Winter. Much of Pflugerville's equipment is newer than the pads west of I-35, which means a freeze split often lands on a pump still inside its warranty window. We'll tell you what we find, so you know where you stand before you spend anything.

Book a cleanup before it turns, or text us and we'll tell you what your pool needs this month.

WHY PFLUGERVILLE POOL OWNERS CHOOSE US

What a fifty-mile circle taught us about Pflugerville water

We could cover all of Central Texas. We'd rather cover a smaller area and know it, and Pflugerville is the clearest case for why that matters. Its water is unlike anything else inside our circle, because the city built its own reservoir and pumps river water into it.

We know that because we test here every week, not because we read it. The same goes for knowing that the clay under a Pflugerville pad moves in a way the rock under a Cedar Park pad never does. Those are two different jobs, and covering everything would mean treating them as one.

Nothing gets done until you've seen the number and said yes. And if what your pool needs is a warranty part the manufacturer should be covering, we'll tell you, even if it means we don't get to do the work.

The Repair Diagnostic is $149. We send a technician to your home to check out your equipment and tell you exactly what's wrong before we touch anything. If you decide not to move forward, we charge the remaining $74.50.
How much does pool cleaning cost in Pflugerville, TX?
Weekly cleaning is $249 a month. One-time cleaning starts at $129. Green pool cleanup is $189. Filter cleaning is $129 for cartridge or $169 for DE. See the full pricing page for everything.
Where does Pflugerville's water come from, and does it affect my pool?
Pflugerville is unusual. The city built Lake Pflugerville, a 180-acre reservoir completed in 2006, and fills it by pumping water sixteen miles from the Colorado River, then blends that with Edwards Aquifer groundwater. The city doesn't publish a total hardness figure, so we test yours instead. But its report shows a different mineral profile from the Lake Travis cities, including total dissolved solids of 432 parts per million against Cedar Park's 286. We test your water rather than working from a regional average.
Why does my pool lose so much water in summer?
Often evaporation rather than a leak. Pflugerville is flat and open with very little mature tree cover, so your water sits in direct sun from morning to evening and the level drops faster than most owners expect. We can tell the difference between evaporation and a real leak on a visit, and it's worth knowing before anyone starts opening up plumbing.
