Swimming Pool Repair Service in Lakeway, TX

Heater working harder for less, or a salt cell that keeps giving up? Lakeway opened in 1963, so some of these pools are genuinely old, and the water here runs between nine and thirteen grains depending on which utility serves your street.

LAKEWAY, TX

What usually goes wrong with a Lakeway pool

Almost nobody reads this page for fun. Something has stopped working the way it used to. Here's the pattern on an older Lakeway pool, and what each one normally comes down to.

  • The heater runs a long time without getting there.
  • The salt cell has stopped producing and the panel keeps throwing an error.
  • A slow leak nobody can locate, on plumbing that has been patched more than once.
  • Live oak leaves and catkins filling the skimmer in February.

Age explains part of it. The ground explains the rest. Lakeway has been here since 1963, which makes it by far the oldest community we serve.

The original numbered sections were platted in order, so the low numbers hold some genuinely old pools, and plenty of them have been looked after by several different companies over the years. It's Travis County, and close to the western edge of our route.

Text us a photo of what you're seeing. If it's something simple, we'll tell you straight away. If it needs a proper look, we'll tell you that too, and what it'll cost.

AROUND LAKEWAY CITY PARK

Why Lakeway pool owners near Lakeway City Park call us

Lakeway City Park is sixty-four lakefront acres with trails, courts and beach access, and it's one of the few places in the city where the streets actually meet the water rather than looking down at it.

It sits toward the middle of our Lakeway route. From the park we're minutes from the original numbered sections, a short run up Lakeway Boulevard to the Live Oak and Yaupon courses at the Clubs of Lakeway, and across Lohmans Crossing Road toward North Lakeway Village and the Activity Center. Flintrock Falls, The Hills and Rough Hollow sit further west.

Naming the park is useful because Lakeway is genuinely hard to navigate by street name. Almost everyone here gives directions by which club, creek or park they're near, and so do we.

We're based near the intersection at Red Bud Lane and Forest Creek Dr in Round Rock. Lakeway is about thirty and a half miles south and west, roughly forty-five minutes. We take SH-45 across then RM 620 south around the lake, which avoids Austin traffic entirely.

RM 620 is the spine and everything hangs off it. Lakeway Boulevard climbs into the original sections and the golf courses. Lohmans Crossing Road covers North Lakeway Village and the middle of the city. Highlands Boulevard runs west toward Lakeway Highlands and Rough Hollow, and Bee Creek Road drops south toward Bee Cave and Highway 71.

The traffic worth planning around is RM 620 itself, which backs up badly near the 620 and 71 junction at rush hour. We run Lakeway mid-morning or early afternoon for exactly that reason, and we group it with our northwest Austin stops since they sit on the same side of the lake.

What we do

Swimming Pool Repair in Rough Hollow, Lakeway Highlands and the original sections

On a pool that went in decades ago we're often looking at original plumbing runs, first or second generation equipment, older bonding and lighting, and sometimes a decade of patches from different companies who each solved one thing. We map what's actually there before recommending anything, because on this kind of pad the wrong assumption is expensive.

The water does its part too: at an average of about 11.4 grains per gallon, scale is the single most common reason a Lakeway heater underperforms and a Lakeway salt cell dies early. Most jobs start with a $149 Repair Diagnostic. You pay $74.50 when you book to cover that visit. If you approve the repair, that $74.50 comes right off your bill, so the diagnostic costs you nothing.

An original numbered section or a newer Rough Hollow street, we'll tell you what the equipment really has left and walk you through the options before any work starts.

What Lakeway water and ground do to your pool

Lakeway is split between two water utilities, and which one serves your street genuinely matters. Most of the city is on Travis County WCID 17, which does publish its numbers: hardness averaging 193.9 parts per million across a range of 153.9 to 222.3, which the district itself states as nine to thirteen grains per gallon with an average of 11.4. The rest is served by Lakeway MUD, whose report doesn't publish a hardness figure at all.

So a neighbor a few streets away can genuinely be dosing different water. On the WCID 17 side, 11.4 grains is enough to be rough on a heater, plate over a salt cell and mark a tile line if nobody is watching the balance. Tell us your street and we'll tell you which utility you're on.

The ground here's different from the rest of the lake. Lakeway sits on Volente silty clay loam and Lewisville, deep soils rather than the thin rock over limestone at Lago Vista and Jonestown, on gentler slopes of one to eight percent. Access is easier here than anywhere else on this lake.

THROUGH THE YEAR

A Lakeway pool year, season by season

Mature live oaks and a managed deer herd mean the work here never really stops.

Late winter. The heavy one. Live oaks drop leaves and catkins in February and March rather than autumn, and it's a genuine volume of debris on an old pool with an old filter.

Summer. Hard use and hard water together. At 11.4 grains the tile line starts marking, and a heater already scaled from spring struggles.

Keep service going through winter, or text us and we'll tell you what your pool needs this month.

WHY LAKEWAY POOL OWNERS CHOOSE US

What a fifty-mile circle taught us about Lakeway water

We could cover all of Central Texas. We'd rather cover a smaller area and know it, and Lakeway is where that turns into a question nobody else asks: which utility is your street on.

Nothing gets done until you've seen the number and said yes. And if what your pool needs is a warranty part the manufacturer should be covering, we'll tell you, even if it means we don't get to do the work.

How We Got Started
COMMON QUESTIONS

Lakeway pool questions

How much does pool repair cost in Lakeway, TX?
The Repair Diagnostic is $149. We send a technician to your home to check out your equipment and tell you exactly what's wrong before we touch anything. You pay $74.50 when you book to cover that visit. If you approve the repair, that $74.50 comes right off your bill, so the diagnostic costs you nothing. If you decide not to move forward, we charge the remaining $74.50.
How much does pool cleaning cost in Lakeway, TX?
Weekly cleaning is $249 a month. One-time cleaning starts at $129. Green pool cleanup is $189. Filter cleaning is $129 for cartridge or $169 for DE. See the full pricing page for everything.
How hard is Lakeway's water?
It depends which utility serves your address, and that's a real split rather than a technicality. Most of Lakeway is served by Travis County WCID 17, which publishes hardness averaging 193.9 parts per million across a range of 153.9 to 222.3, and states that as nine to thirteen grains per gallon with an average of 11.4. The rest of the city is served by Lakeway MUD, whose report doesn't publish a hardness figure. Tell us your street and we'll tell you which one you're on.
My Lakeway pool is old. Is that a problem?
Not by itself. Lakeway opened in 1963 and the original numbered sections were platted in order, so the low-numbered streets hold some genuinely old pools. What matters is what has actually been done to them: original plumbing runs, older lighting and bonding, and patches from several different companies are all common here. We map what's there before recommending anything.
