Most people land on this page with a pool that has already started misbehaving. Almost every call we take in Brushy Creek is one of these seven. If yours is on the list, you already know more than you did a minute ago.
There's one reason most of that list looks the way it does. Brushy Creek sits at about 833 feet, higher than any other place on our route, on a soil the survey calls Eckrant: a thin layer of clay sitting directly on limestone. That combination decides most of what goes wrong here.

Text Us a Photo of Your PoolThe Brushy Creek Regional Trail runs the length of the district, from Brushy Creek Lake Park through the greenbelt and down toward Champion Park. If you live off it, in Cat Hollow, Sendero Springs, Creekview or the Woods of Brushy Creek, your pool sits under mature live oak and cedar elm, and that canopy is worth real money in August and a real nuisance in February.
It also means the district isn't laid out like a city. Brushy Creek is a municipal utility district rather than an incorporated town, so the streets wind along the creek instead of running on a grid, and the fastest way in from Round Rock is rarely the way a map first suggests. We've been running this route long enough to know which entrances back up and which don't.
That means a Brushy Creek stop is almost never a special trip.
From our base near Forest Creek we come across on FM 1431 or drop down Parmer Lane, depending on where you're in the district. Cat Hollow and Sendero Springs are quickest off Great Oaks Drive. The Woods of Brushy Creek, Creekview and Highland Horizon come easier from Brushy Creek Road.
Nineteen minutes, eleven miles. We group Brushy Creek stops with Round Rock and Cedar Park because all three sit on the same run, which is why a same-week slot here's usually realistic rather than aspirational.
Brushy Creek is a district rather than a city, so one street can be Round Rock ISD and the next Leander, the mail goes out under three zip codes, and part of it sits in Cedar Park and part in Austin.
Route maps get this wrong constantly. We just drive it. What doesn't change is the county. It's all Williamson County, and we cover every bit of it.

Brushy Creek MUD publishes its hardness every week, which is unusual and genuinely useful. The 2026 average so far is 183 parts per million, about 10.7 grains per gallon. That's hard water. It's not the hardest we work in, but it's consistent, and consistency is what quietly plates a salt cell and wears on a heater over a couple of seasons.
One figure worth knowing: the district's own sheet carries a worked example of 11.40 grains, and that number isn't the hardness. It's an illustration of the division. We mention it because it turns up in search results looking like a measurement, and setting a softener or dosing a pool off it would be a small, avoidable error.
The ground matters more here than anywhere else we serve. The survey puts most of Brushy Creek on Eckrant, a shallow clay sitting straight on limestone, often less than a foot deep. That's why so many pads here are thin, why rock shows up eighteen inches down, and why equipment moves in a way it doesn't on the deep clay east of I-35. When we find a pump that has failed twice on the same side, we look at what it's standing on.
Late winter. The one people miss. Live oaks along the greenbelt drop leaves and catkins in February and March rather than autumn, and catkins go straight through a skimmer basket into the filter. On a pool under that much canopy this is the heaviest fortnight of the year.
Summer. Long stretches above 100, and district water at 183 ppm, about 10.7 grains per gallon starting to mark the tile. Up at 833 feet the evenings cool off a little faster than they do down in Manor or Taylor, which is the one advantage of the elevation.

The largest neighborhood in the district. Mature trees, established pools, and a lot of original equipment now on its second or third generation.
Off Brushy Creek Road, close to the greenbelt and the trail. Older builds, deep canopy, heavy February leaf drop.
As the name promises, the shadiest corner of the district, and the one where filters work hardest.
Quieter streets off the main routes, quick to reach from Great Oaks Drive.
Spread along the creek. Mixed build eras, so equipment ages vary street to street.
Both sit on the Round Rock side of the district, with Stone Canyon running to about 340 lots. Same water, same ground, and we're through here on the same run.
